2017
Launching his career as a graphic designer, Johan Ku's inspiration is quite different from other fashion designers I've witnessed, so it was quite fascinating to be able to witness his runway event. His designs for this collection was based off the sci-fi movie The Thing and can I just ask, can I also buy the spider-looking legs too ?

Comparing to Jotaro Saito's runway, this one was much smaller in comparison . I think because of this though we were able to get a clear look at the collection which was absolutely fantastic ! This runway was minimalistic, dominated by black and white . We were surrounded by black curtains with very little lighting and with the only things being white was the runway and the passage way that they came from, it kind of felt like you were floating in space-rather fitting of this collection indeed . The atmosphere was kind of eerie, after nearly everything was pitch back and the only source of lighting was the passage way and directly above us . Say, if something were to attack you from behind or beside your or something you totally wouldn't be able to tell LOL . But I guess it was hard to be scared since everything was, well, rather stylish .

Also joining with us was something I'd like to call my little "selfie friend" . XD Having the enviable front row seats, it joined us in watching the runway and we were able to take pictures with it after ahaha . The interesting thing about it was the fact that if you looked carefully at the head, it was built of cameras, and those cameras were actually running ! At first I thought they were go pro's but they're not . Probably something similar though because I'm pretty sure these cameras also used wide angle lens' . It was cute but in a creepy way ? lol ahahaha .

Johan Ku's Gold Label Autumn Winter collection consisted of monotone, and a little splash of light blue . So light it almost looks like it could glow in the dark...right ? If you thought that then you'd have a lot of fun at this runway XD . A lot of this collection consisted of black, or white that was almost feathery or furry . However when the material was plain and the colour was light, at the end of the runway the model would stop, the lights would go low, and suddenly, you realised that if anything you can still see the top that they're wearing . And would you look at that, it glows in the dark ! Totally a cool gimmick I absolutely loved it .

The fascinating thing about this collection was that it was so...creepy but stylish at the same time ? Sure there was face paint, what I suspect to be balloon tentacles or spider legs, clothes that glow in the dark, a selfie friend with a bunch of cameras for its face but...I mean it didn't look bad, you know ? It was a nice little touch to the runway that I never thought could actually exist . Actually the runway was quite short in terms of length of time, but looking back on it now show really packed quite a punch !

The mystery of aesthetic-just as long as it looks good right ? haha
