Go beyond it .

Jotaro Saito is a wonderful Japanese fashion designer, specialising in the patterns and design of one of Japan's well known traditional Japanese wear known as the kimono .

This venue was freaking huge and so was the collection ! The show lasted around an hour and a half with around 30 models . It was a good idea to get there early...but we didn't LOL . Just like the designs and kimonos, the runway was also extremely gorgeous, also being designed with traditional Japanese print . Just like his collection and designs, the venue was a gorgeous fusion of the modern and distinct age-old traditional Japanese pattern .

Kimono's aren't very common in Japan, so even when you come across one the kimono is a very striking piece of clothing . It is very intricate, and is often riddled with signature Japanese symbolisms and patterns . But what's fascinating to observe about Jotaro Saito's designs is that somehow, one way or another, it is still very distinct and different from what is the very unique kimono . Not that a normal kimono isn't a sight to see, but Jotaro Saito's kimono's has a distinct flavour and style that defines itself from the others . It's fascinating to observe .

I think if anything, his designs truly have the imprint of the distinctive Japanese pattern, however it has a much more stylish and modern feel to it . Japan's recent trend in style is usually very minimalistic, with very little to no patterns . In juxtaposition the traditional style is often very patterned and detailed-which most kimonos seem to consists of . Jotaro Saito's collection is always pretty interesting to observe for the fact that his patterns are very much reminiscent of the Japanese traditional style, but at the same time has that new aged minimalistic style, with lots of straight lines and geometrical shapes .

The collection was a delicate, sophisticated, and striking work of colour and pattern . However I imagine all of Jotaro Saito's runways are like that though . He used a lot of dull, dark and muted colours, as well as a lot of grey . And despite the fact that his collection is actually pretty colourful, the use of these certain types of colours really scream out Winter and Autumn .

It was most definitely a pleasure to see Jotaro Saito's runway in the flesh and I really hope that I'll be able to be given the chance to attend his Spring and Summer runway collection as well ! Thank you for the wonderful runway collection !
